Envy 6400
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just got a new Envy 6400 and there are couple of issues but I'll give the main 2 right now.

1. I can't print on 4x6 photo paper through HP Smart or by bringing up the photo and using the print selection. I have the paper loaded in with the guides set properly. The main screen says "Ready" but nothing. When I bring up the print que it says out of paper. I've got it loaded. Nothing happens when I hit print, no error message nor do I hear the printer working. Any help is appreciated.

2. Is there a way to scan without going through HP Smart App?

3.  Is there a way to be premanently logged in to HP Smart?

Thanks !!!!

Not sure if HP Envy 6400 have this feature in the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Might want to do a Wireless reset on the printer and try again?

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much. I installed he full software and everything worked fine today although the printer shows out of paper to easily when there is a full load. I've conquered that but it seems a bit touchy.

I did get the HP Scan Icon but never got  the Printer Assistant Icon. Help on that is appreciated, but all in all very helpful.

I Again I have the scan icon but when I click on the Icon that is the pic of the printer it gives me Device Setup and software, nothing like the video says I should get.

WE HAVE A WINNER !!!!! I removed all previous installations, rebooted computer, turned off Windows Defender and reinstalled. I guess it was the Defender that was blocking it.  Surprising that there is not a built in feature in every app installation  that automatically turns off Defender or any protection software to avoid installation errors.

At any rate, thank you all for your input and suggestions.....Very Helpful.

Hope everyone has a great day and hopefully you are not in New Orleans !!!

If I can give one more observation before we close this. If HP has this full software suite available, why in the world would they push you to the HP Smart App?  At least give an option on the initial installation of which software to use. I previously had the HP 8500 all in one and loved the solution center. This full suite software with a separate scan option is just perfect. My only guess is that HP Smart is for those who don’t use a computer with the printer and do everything on their phone or tablet.

Thanks Again
