I bought an HP Envy 6458e and it worked great for a few months but now it keeps showing an amber light and "E" error display. I opened the smart app and did trouble shooting and it said the printer is good. The virtual agent was no help at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and I still have the same problem. However, when I open and close the ink door it sometimes corrects the problem and the blue light comes on. I get tired of opening and closing the ink door all the time and if I can't get the printer to work properly I will return it.

Update: after calling customer support, I was told we have a "defective" color cartridge, (after we used it for 6 months), and they will send us a new one. This should not happen because we had signed up for "Instant Ink", and they should have sent us ink a long time ago. Now we can't even print with black ink, because the printer won't work!
