Several months ago, I tried to print a photo from my phone using the HP print service. The print failed because my phone tried to force the photo to print on 4x6 paper when the printer was loaded with standard letter size. Since then, I rarely get a print out of my printer. It will start printing, then cancel, but it never tells me why it's cancelling. It's happening with one page documents, as well as multi-page documents. I've reset my computer to factory and verified my printer is fully updated. I've also run the troubleshooter. How can I fix this issue?

Hi @SoDuckingWright,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’ve already done a lot of troubleshooting with your HP Envy 7855 printer. Here are some additional steps to try and resolve the printing issues:
1. Check Printer Status and Settings
- Print Queue: Open the print queue on your computer (Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click on your printer > See what's printing). Make sure there are no stuck jobs. If there are, cancel them and try printing again.
- Default Printer: Ensure that the HP Envy 7855 is set as your default printer.
2. Check Paper Settings
- Paper Size: Ensure that the paper size settings in your print dialog match the paper loaded in the printer (e.g., if you have letter size loaded, ensure it’s set to letter size in the print settings).
- Media Type: Make sure the correct media type is selected in the print settings. For example, if you’re printing on photo paper, select the corresponding option.
3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer.
- After downloading, uninstall the current printer driver through Control Panel > Devices and Printers, then reinstall the new driver.
4. Clear Print Spooler
- Open Services (search for “Services” in the Start menu).
- Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
- Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete any files in that folder.
- Go back to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.
5. Network Connection
- If you're using the printer over Wi-Fi, check that the printer is still connected to your network. You can print a network configuration page from the printer to verify.
- Consider reconnecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
6. Reset the Printer
- Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging it for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
7. HP Smart App
- If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app on your computer or phone. It can help manage printer settings and might provide additional troubleshooting options.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
