I bought the HP Envy 7855 in Dec. 2022 and set it up and used it to copy and print about 20 times up until May 2023 when it quit Printing. I tried everything from new #64 ink cart. to new paper, both HP and Primo $$ paper, Nothing worked. I then boxed it and it sat stored until 06/29/2025 when I pulled it out put in another set of HP New Ink and tried again, SAME PROBLEM, Blank Pages! The reason I tried it again was I read a person had the same Problem and HP stated it was a Hardware Problem and sent a Fix for the7855? The paragraph did not explain the fix details BUT in was same make and model and problem as my HP Envy 7855. He;p My printer work again. Ps. I attempted to get help from HP when this unit failed after 6 months to no avail?

@skelter, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 is printing blank pages despite having brand new HP ink cartridges, there could be several reasons behind the issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Check Ink Levels:
- Ensure that the printer recognizes the new cartridges and check the ink levels.
- On the printer's control panel, touch the Ink Icon to display the estimated ink levels.
Reinstall Ink Cartridges:
- Turn on the printer and open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges properly. Make sure the cartridges are correctly seated in place and that the cartridge lid is closed securely.
Clean the Printheads:
- Print quality issues can arise from dirty printheads. In the printer's menu, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Cartridges to initiate a cleaning cycle.
Align Printheads:
- Sometimes, aligning the printheads can solve print quality issues. You can do this through the printer's setup menu.
Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page:
- Load plain U.S. letter or A4 paper in the input tray.
- On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, touch the Setup icon, swipe up, and touch Reports. Then touch Print Quality Report.
- This report can help identify the source of print quality issues.

Update Firmware:
- Ensure the printer's firmware is updated to the latest version. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app.
Check Software Settings:
- Verify that the print settings are correct. Ensure you are not set to print in grayscale or draft mode unintentionally.
Restart Printer:
- Sometimes simply turning off the printer, unplugging it for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in can resolve temporary hardware issues.
