My printer is getting stuck on the first dot when starting up and will not boot up. I have unplugged it and replugged it in, done a power drain and reset, printer is plugged directly into the wall...nothing is working! There has been no hardware changes or trauma, no software updates that I know of, so I am not sure what the issue is. I have seen some users with the same issue getting instructions in their PMs about a "hard reboot" and saying that has solved the issue and I would like to know what this option is. At this point I cannot print or scan anything and I am really frustrated....Can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance for any help!

@TDng, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand the printer is stuck at the initialization screen. The instructions in a private message are to perform a semi-full reset which is not possible if the printer is stuck on this screen.
You should be able to access the home screen of the printer to perform this reset.
As you have tried a hard reset and power drain, but the issue persists, I'm afraid there are no other steps to be performed.
Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.
You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Just as the original poster stated -

I have seen some users with the same issue getting instructions in their PMs about a "hard reboot" and saying that has solved the issue and I would like to know what this option is.
There must be an option to do system restore from a USB flash drive or something. Extremely frustrated!

Unfortunately, there are no other options. Kindly contact the HP Support team as mentioned in my previous post.
