HP Envy 7855
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just purchased my HP Envy Photo 7855 printer, while trying to set it up through my iPhone I noticed I was having trouble getting the touchscreen to work properly.  I'm not sure if the touchscreen needs to be calibrated or if it's just broken. Is there an issue with these printers having touchscreen problems, not responding to finger touch? Is there someway to get it looked at or would I need to return it and get another one?

@AnimalMother773, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

HP Envy Photo 7855 All-in-One Printers do not have touch screen issues. This seems like one rare case. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Make sure the protective plastic tape is removed from the screen if any.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Try to check if the touch screen responds to the touch. Try tapping on the various options displayed on the screen.

Let me know how this goes.

I come to believe there’s something wrong with the touchscreen itself. I tried everything that was suggested. I even tried the longer version, unplug the cord at both ends, hold power button for 30 seconds, wait 3 minutes and the plug it back in (directly into the wall socket, not the surge protector) and nothing has worked. It doesn’t respond to touch, nor let me scroll through options. Sometimes I’m able to select an option if I repeatedly tap the screen over and over.

That's unfortunate. If the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
