Product: HP Envy Photo 7855

I was given a HP Envy Photo 7855 printer with no cartridges.  Went out and bought a new couple of new ones and put them in but now all that comes up on the screen is "Use Setup Cartridges".  Nothing else comes up on the screen, not even the buttons.   How can I get this printer working, I just spent over one hundred dollars on the two cartridges.  Thanks
