Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer is stuck on the loading screen, showing the HP logo and one dot filled in.

Trying the various resets involving unplugging the printer, and other cords, for several minutes and plugging them back in has not changed anything. nor holding down various buttons during the process.

From reviewing other posts, I believe I may need instructions to try a full reset of the printer and that this may be a hardware issue. The printer appears offline to other computers in the meantime.

Thanks!

Hi @Adam_OH,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy Photo 7858 All-In-One Printer is stuck during start-up, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Power cycle the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, and wait for a few minutes. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer. Check if the printer starts up normally.
  • Check for any paper jams: Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer. If you find any, carefully remove them.
  • Reset the printer: Press and hold the power button on the printer for at least 15 seconds, then release the button. This will reset the printer and may help it start up normally.
  • Check the ink cartridges: Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and are not empty or low on ink. If they are, replace them with new cartridges.
  • Update the printer firmware: Check for any available firmware updates for your printer and install them if available. This can help fix any software-related issues that may be causing the printer to get stuck during start-up.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
