HP Envy 4512 leaving blank lines when printing. Happening with documents printed from the computer and also the quality diagnostic pages. I have restarted (unplugged and plugged back in) the device, taken out the cartridges and reinstalled, ran cartridge cleaner tool and alignment tool, all multiple times. Print quality page still coming out with lines half printed. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the driver on my computer, though I do not think it is an issue with communication from the computer since it is happening across multiple print sources and happening with the printer's own diagnostic tool pages. Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Hi @DM156498,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already taken several troubleshooting steps for your HP ENVY 4512 printer, but the issue persists. Since the problem occurs even when printing diagnostic pages directly from the printer, it's likely an issue with the hardware or the ink cartridges themselves.
Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve printing issues.
Examine the Ink Cartridges:
- Even if you've reinstalled the cartridges, they could still be the source of the problem. Inspect the cartridges for any visible damage or leaks. Ensure the vent is not blocked.
- If possible, try using a new set of ink cartridges to see if the problem persists.
Clean the Printhead:
- Since running the cartridge cleaner tool didn’t help, manually clean the printhead. Here's how:
- Turn on the printer.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Wait for the carriage to move to the center.
- Remove the cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently wipe the printhead. Avoid touching the copper contacts.
- Allow the printhead to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.
Printhead Alignment:
- Although you mentioned running the alignment tool, sometimes doing it manually can help.
- Load plain white paper into the input tray.
- On the printer's control panel, go to "Setup" > "Tools" > "Align Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check the Printer Settings:
- Ensure that the paper type and print quality settings in the print driver match the paper loaded in the printer.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Sometimes a hard reset can help reset the internal memory of the printer.
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
