Product: Envy Pro 6400
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

The instruction manual for the Envy Pro 6400 states that the front light (the one that changes color depending on its message) will go out after 2 hours of not using it. Mine just stays on all the time.....except when I turn the whole thing off. Any help in getting the machine to understand that I don't need a night light!!

@Pupmomma, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

Which color is glowing when it is idle? 

Did you check for any errors on the printer? Refer to the document Blinking Lights and Error Codes for help.

 

Also, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
