HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-in-One Printer

My printer is not printing in color, even though the print preview displays in color. I have run both levels of printhead cleaning from the HP Smart app. The Print Quality Diagnostic printout shows "Ink levels are okay and should not cause print quality problems. Ink is genuine HP" but no colors print on that page.

The HP Virtual Assistant's suggestion was to buy a new cartridge, but my current cartridge is still half full. I would prefer not to waste money on a new cartridge since there is still ink remaining.

Black ink prints just fine.

How can I get my printer to use the color cartridge?

Update: I think my color cartridge had dried out (it had not been used in many months). I took the color cartridge out and "cleaned" it by tapping it printhead-down on a damp paper towel and lightly dragging it down the paper towel a bunch of times and it shows a brown color instead of distinct colors. I might keep trying this to see if I can get the color to run again, but otherwise it seems like I do need to replace the cartridge.
