HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My new HP Jet Pro MFP M283fdw disconnects have to unplug to reconnect.  I am using Windows 10 64 bit. The printer and computer are connected via usb cable.  Every time I want to print I have to unplug the printer, wait, plug it back in and let it reset.  I have run troubleshooter, and installed the HP Support Assistant.  Neither of those found a problem.  Any ideas to fix this are appreciated.

I suspect it is not getting a wakeup call from sleep.   Your PC's USB is not sending the wakeup. There are 2 things to try

First, do not allow the printer to sleep

Second, find the USB port that the printer is on set the power management so that your PC does not save power by shutting down the USB.  I have no idea how to find which port the printer is connected to. Maybe the printer property or diagnostics will show that.  You might go to each of the USB hubs and simple tell each one not to save power

good luck
