I have a HP LaserJet MFP M140w Printer that I purchased about a month ago. It printed fine initially, but for the past week it has stopped printing. I have uninstalled it multiple times, which temporarily resolves the issue. Each time a send a print job to the printer, the printer will print 5-25% of the page. I then get an error message indicating the printer could not print.

I am able to check my print queue and delete the print job.

I have reinstalled the printer 10+ times. I have restarted the computer. Nothing seems to work.

Welcome thoughts on what might be going on.

Thanks!

Welcome to the HP support community.

Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?

Thanks for responding. I am using Windows 11. I should add that I am able to use the printer without any issue when I print documents from my iPhone and Chromebook.

Did you uninstall the printer driver from the root level before installing the new driver?

If not, follow these steps:-

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Thank you for the suggestions. I followed the steps for uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and for updating the firmware. I was able to print once successfully, but then I began receiving the same error message. I am still able to print from my iPhone and Chromebook, but not from my Windows 11 machine.
