Hi @Mister_neil,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

he error code "03 / 9°" on your HP LaserJet MFP M28-m31 typically indicates that the printer has overheated and needs to cool down before you can continue printing. This can happen especially if the printer has been used intensively or is in a warm environment.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the printer is turned on, then disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. If a USB cable is connected, remove it as well.
  3. Allow the printer to sit unplugged for a few minutes to cool down and to dissipate any residual electrical charge.
  4. Reconnect the power cable directly to a wall outlet (avoid using surge protectors or extension cords at this stage for optimal power flow), and then reconnect it to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait for it to complete its warm-up period.

These steps should help reset the printer's internal temperature and clear the error code. If the problem persists, it might indicate a hardware issue

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
