Hi All ,

I'm having a problem with the Toner Collection Unit. We have 2 printers (HP Color Laserjet MFP E87640z) for which I have already changed 2 times for each the TCU. The manufacturer says that each spare part is about 70,000 pages. These 2 machines asked for tcu at 34000 and now that we have reached 67000 I have changed them again. I only use Original consumables .Whats going on ? Do you think the printer has a problem or something else?

Best Regards ,

John

Is your firmware up to date? There were changes made to TCU management in regards to level readings. Are you seeing excess toner usage? If not, I am not sure I would be too concerned.  Depending on how much you are using the printer and what types of jobs you are printing, the rated life is only an estimate based on best usage cases. If you print excessive amounts of heavy color or print a lot of single page jobs, you are going to find supplies do not reach their rated life.
