HP Laserjet 1200

Hello everybody,

I have an older HP Laserjet 1200 series that lately started to squeak terribly when I switch it on and the motor starts running. I tried to print nonetheless, but the rolls to draw the paper in don't seem to move (though that might be normal, because the printer often needs a while, before he starts to draw in the sheets).

I happen to have changed the cartrigde I while ago and I've taken it out and switched the printer on again to check if that's why, but still the same.

Does anyone have an idea what to do?

Thank you!

Madlen

Defective laser motor when starts to rotating at high speed produce a high squeak tone.

You need to locate the source of noise where it comes from, the laser is just under the top cover.

Hello Valsimot,

Thank you very much! Your advice has led me to search for further information about the motor and I could find this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFp2KLCFgpY

and repair the printer! :)))

Happy greetings,

Madlen
