Laserjet 4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello and good afternoon,

My printer a Laserjet 4 build Dic 1992 was working perfectly. Suddenly after a new start an error code appears: 50 Service (in german 50 Wartung). I found some information that the a small part of the fuser should be the problem, but I am not able to find any information. As the printer is nearly 30 years I am looking for a cheap solution. Does anybody have any information how to disasemble the unit and how to control and later change the expected small part .

I found the following: Error 50 means that the heating of the fuser unit is no longer working. This is usually a burnt-out heating lamp,or a defective thermal fuse.

So my question is, anybody knows details of these parts. How to check and how to disasamble.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Reply can be in german, spanish or english.

Best regards,

José

There are plenty of refurb fusers available from places like Ebay and honestly that is probably your best solution.
