HP LaserJet Pro 400 Printer M401dne

Hello. I recently purchased an HP LaserJet Pro M401dne used. It arrived damaged.

The printer will power on but it informs me "Door is open." Which it is - the cartridge door doesn't shut properly. (The back door is damaged as well, but I'm guessing it means the front door.)

I got the side covers and door off of the machine today. I can't see anything physically wrong with the door except the latch on the right side. It looks like when the release button is pushed, springs pull the latches in so the door can be opened. The spring has become detached from the right latch, leaving it loose. I am not sure how to disassemble the door further or if it is possible to do so. The latch is in the way of the spring and I don't see, even if I could remove the spring, how to reattach it.

Is this something I could fix or does the door simply have to be replaced?

I should add that since the overall goal is to get the error to go away, if fixing the latch on the door will not accomplish this, then any help appreciated on what would make it go away.
