macOS 12.0 Monterey

Bought a printer from an amazon reseller and got the event code 57.01.00.  Talked to tech support and updated the firmware and reset the to the factory settings.  Still get the same error message.  I do not have a warranty on the printer.  I understand from other posts that his may be a mechanical issue.  Is this something that can be fixed easily?  If so, what parts do I need to make this repair.  Any information is appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

  3. Print Head: In some cases, the print head or its connection might be at fault.
  4. DC Controller: If the fan and motor are fine, the DC controller might be the issue.

If you're comfortable opening up the printer, I’d recommend checking the fan and motor first. You might need to order a replacement fan, motor, or DC controller, depending on which part is faulty.

A 57 error is a fan issue and in this case would indicate an issue with the main fan. Sorry HP's tech site is currently down i cannot provide a part number but if you refer to a KB article I wrote about sourcing parts it might help you.

As HP does not classify this series as serviceable, no parts are listed. However, this model is nearly identical to the 4301 and the main fan part number is RK3-0397-000CN.

 

Remove the side cover and check the part number on the fan. Refer to the 4301 repair manual here for guidance https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_9452560_en-US-1.pdf

This is great info!  Thanks so much for the help.  I will open up the printer and check the fan.
