HI,
Has just received this printer and it was diagnosed with a formatter board issue causing the LCD not to function.
I found the problem was caused by a corrupted firmware.
Below are the steps I took to solve the issue.
- Connect a LAN cable with internet access
- Turn the printer on
- Wait for the initialisation to complete
- Open the front door and close it to initiate a test print (toner access door)
- the print will not complete if the firmware is the issue
- Open and close the paper tray
- The LCD should lit up with service options (Blue background)
- Select "Settings" and "Partial reset"
- The printer will download the latest firmware and Apply it
- Once done it should boot normally
Hope this is helpful to someone
