I purchased a color laser printer several years ago. I recently had a paper jam and after I removed the jam, I had a 59.C0 error with the instructions. “Turn off then turn on.” I tried that and the error remained. I checked online and HP recommended removing the cartridges and replacing them one-by-one, allowing the printer to recycle after each cartridge was installed. After I installed the final cartridge (black), the error returned.

@Toni1957, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The 59.C0 error indicates that the developer-alienation motor experienced a rotational error. Here are the recommended steps to resolve this issue:

Turn the Printer Off and On:

  • Turn off the printer using the power switch.
  • Wait at least 30 seconds.
  • Turn the printer back on and wait for it to initialize.

Direct Power Connection:

  • If you are using a surge protector, remove it.
  • Plug the printer directly into the wall socket.
  • Turn the printer on.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

I unplugged the printer for about an hour, then plugged it back in and everything was fine.
