Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After firmware update SPP1FN2021AR was downloaded and installed on my printer, it wont recognize valid HP type 63 black or color ink cartridges. The error "Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridges..." appears on the display no matter what I try. I have swapped out the cartridges with new HP cartridges purchased at Wall mart, cleaned the contacts with distilled water as recommended, reset the printer as recommended and tried resetting the printer back to factory defaults. Nothing has worked.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried everything mentioned in the linked document prior to leaving the original email, but I attempted everything again and same issue occurred.  I am currently trying to use new HP Cartridges right out of the box purchased at Walmart.

Again, this error occurred right after the latest firmware update to my printer.

Thanks for your time.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

I attempted to use the instructions in your response, and I don't get a "show options" mentioned in item 5. The support site you link to just keeps sending me back here to this forum. I've done everything suggested from replacing the cartridges to resting the printer to cleaning the contacts to resetting the printer to factory defaults. Nothing has worked.

What I need is the Firmware for this printer prior to version SPP1FNF2021AR and instructions how to install it. The Ink error that is occurring started immediately after this firmware update. not 1 or 2 days later, I mean right after the update,  and the error occurs on both the color and black type 63 VALID PURCHASED FROM WALMART HP ink cartridges and the valid HP ink cartridges that were already installed in the printer.

I've spent over $50 on new HP Ink cartridges at Walmart trying to resolve this, the printer still tells me they are wrong or incorrectly installed  and I'm about to buy another printer that is not HP.

Any additional assistance would be appreciated. I need a functioning printer and I can't get this one to work.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
