Hi @ Arooga1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If a feature on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9012 printer has been locked and you are unable to unlock it, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue. Please note that the steps may vary slightly depending on your printer's firmware version, but these general guidelines should help you get started:

  1. Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor issues.
  2. Check the Control Panel: On the printer's control panel, look for any option related to locking or unlocking features. Navigate through the settings to see if there's an option to unlock the specific feature that has been locked.
  3. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
    • Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the printer.
    • Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
    • Once you access the Embedded Web Server, navigate to the settings or security section to see if there's an option to unlock the feature.
  4. Factory Reset: If the issue persists, you may consider performing a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that a factory reset will restore the printer to its default settings, and you will need to set it up again.
    • Consult the printer's manual or HP support documentation for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
  5. Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the official HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
