Hi @BillGren,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

When the printed page has a different format than the printer preview screen, especially in Word documents, it can be due to a variety of factors such as printer settings, Word settings, or driver issues. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015:

1. Check Page Setup in Word

  • Ensure Consistent Margins and Orientation:
    • Open your Word document.
    • Go to Layout (or Page Layout) > Margins and ensure the margins are set correctly.
    • Ensure both pages are set to Landscape orientation.

2. Verify Print Settings

  • Word Print Settings:
    • In Word, go to File > Print.
    • Click on Printer Properties or Print Setup.
    • Ensure the settings match what you see in the Word preview. Specifically, check the following:
      • Orientation: Both pages should be set to Landscape.
      • Print on Both Sides: Ensure it’s set correctly (Flip on long edge or short edge depending on how you want the pages to turn).
  • HP Printer Settings:
    • Click on Printer Properties in the print dialog box.
    • Go to the Finishing tab (or similar) and ensure the correct settings for two-sided printing are selected.

3. Update Printer Drivers

  • Download Latest Drivers:
    • Visit the HP support website.
    • Search for your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 9015) and download the latest drivers.
    • Install the drivers and restart your computer if necessary.

4. Print to PDF First

  • Print to PDF:
    • In Word, select File > Print and choose Microsoft Print to PDF or another PDF printer.
    • Save the document as a PDF and then open the PDF to check if the formatting is correct.
    • Print the PDF from a PDF viewer (like Adobe Acrobat Reader) to see if the issue persists.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @BillGren,

Please find the next set of steps below.

5. Check for Software Updates

  • Update Word:
    • Ensure that you are using the latest version of Microsoft Word.
    • Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now to check for updates.

6. Adjust Text Boxes in Word

  • Position and Anchor Text Boxes:
    • Right-click on each text box and select More Layout Options.
    • Ensure the text box is anchored correctly and the position is set relative to the page, not to the margin or another element.
    • Check if there are any wrapping styles or alignment settings that might affect the positioning.

7. Printer Firmware Update

  • Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Sometimes, printer firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues.
    • Visit the HP support website and check for firmware updates for your printer model.

8. Reset Printer Settings

  • Factory Reset:
    • As a last resort, you can reset your printer to factory settings.
    • Refer to the printer manual or HP support for instructions on performing a factory reset.

9. Test with a Different Document

  • Create a Test Document:
    • Create a new Word document with a similar setup (landscape, text boxes) and try printing it to see if the issue is specific to the original document.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the formatting issue when printing your Word document on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015. If the problem persists, consider contacting HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
