Hi @pixie3681,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear you're facing this issue with your HP OfficeJet 6958. It can be really frustrating, especially after trying the cleaning steps already. Let's see if we can resolve this together.
- Are there any error messages or flashing lights on the printer's display?
- Have you ensured the ink cartridges are properly installed and making good contact with the printhead?
- Do you hear any noise or movement from the printer when trying to print, or is it completely silent?
Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check Ink Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and that the protective tape has been removed.
- Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Run the HP Printer Diagnostics: Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix common printing problems.
- Test with Another Document or App: Try printing from a different program (e.g., Word, PDF viewer) to see if the issue is software-specific.
- Check for Printhead Issues: Since you’ve cleaned the printhead, try manually removing and reseating the printhead to ensure proper contact with the ink cartridges. If possible, try replacing the printhead if the problem persists.
