HELP. I am going insane. My HP  OfficeJet 3830 keeps printing the same configuration pages over and over again- one after the other . I never even asked to print them. When I try to explore in the settings to fix it the screens start jumping around. We  have to keep the printer turned off or it just randomly prints and the settings screens contine to jump around. It's like it's haunted. Please help me perform an exorcism. Thanks. MAC OS Sonoma 14.6

Hi @BalletCat01,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 3830 is experiencing a frustrating issue with repeatedly printing configuration pages, which can certainly feel like it's haunted! Here are some steps you can take to resolve this problem.

Check for Stuck Buttons: Sometimes, a stuck button can cause erratic behavior. Ensure that all buttons on the printer are functioning properly and not stuck.

Reset the Printer:

  • Power off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and turn the printer back on.

Update or Reinstall Drivers: Since you're using macOS Sonoma, ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Go to the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your printer model.

Factory Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, performing a factory reset can help. To do this:

  • On the printer control panel, tap the Setup icon (wrench).
  • Scroll to Printer Maintenance and select Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the reset.

Disconnect from Wi-Fi: If the printer is connected to Wi-Fi, try disconnecting it temporarily to see if it stops the printing loop. This can help determine if the issue is related to a wireless signal or network command.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
