macOS 11.0 Big Sur

HP OfficeJet 3830, for mac, prints blank pages. Checked both print cartridges, they have sufficient ink to print. Initiate a print job, it accepts the job and prints, but the page is blank, Reseated both ink cartridges, still blank sheets.  Reset the printer, still blank pages when attempting to print.

I forgot to mention that I'm running macOS Big Sur, V.11.4

I understand the printer is printing blank pages from your Mac. Let us try these steps:

 

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

 

Try making a standalone copy in black and color from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Insert one ink cartridge at a time and try printing/copy to identify the defective ink cartridge.

Make sure you are using HP ink cartridges.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

Clean the ink cartridges up to 2 times and print a quality report to check the result.
