Initially, I got the error that the black ink cartridge is low so I replaced it. Got the error to replace the color cartridge even though its supply was quite high. I use the printer few times of the year, primarily to review taxes prior to submitting it.
I replaced the color cartridge too but get the same error: not recognizing the color cartridge.
Bought HP cartridges from BestBuy
Reviewed quite a few support documents and still unable to resolve the issue.

@Rajesh71, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are not able to print due to this error. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.
Also, perform step 3 from this document.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
