OfficeJet 5200
Microsoft Windows 11

I have this printer and use it wirelessly from PCs and MACs in the network.   PCs are Win11 and latest updates.

I only made one change:  I have a wifi router that is connected to my modem, and another router that is connected to the wifi router but is in Access Point mode.   I disconnected and reconnected these modems and the printer as well as all the computers are connecting to the router that is in AP mode.

My Macs print and scan fine.   hpsmart shows the printer online.

My PCs scan but printing causes the job to get stuck in the queue.

I have downloaded these files from HP but they did not fix the issue.

Basic_Webpack_x64-44.9.2759-OJ5200_Basicx64_Webpack

I have also tried the diagnostics in the HP Smart tool but that did not detect any issue.

Everything was working fine a while ago but then the network reconfig happened.

Any tips would be most appreciated.

@tok6, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you so much for posting your query! My colleague @VikramTheGreat is currently out, but don't worry – I’ll be taking over and making sure we get this sorted for you.

Find the Printer's IP Address

On the printer screen:
Go to Wireless Settings > Network Settings > Wireless Summary
Write down the IP address (like 192.168.1.25).

Change the Printer Port on Windows

Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

Right-click your printer > Choose Printer Properties.

Go to the Ports tab.

If the current port says WSD, do this:

Click Add Port > Standard TCP/IP Port > New Port...

Enter the IP address from step 1.

Finish setup and select this new port.

Click Apply, then try printing.

(Optional but Recommended) Set a Static IP on the Printer

This prevents the printer's IP from changing.

On the printer screen:

Go to Wireless Settings > Advanced > IP Settings > Manual/Static

Set:

IP Address: something like 192.168.1.250

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: your router IP (usually 192.168.1.1)

I truly hope these steps help get things back on track. If you have any questions or need any further clarification, just let me know – I’m happy to guide you through it and make sure everything works perfectly.

Take care, and I hope you have an amazing day ahead! 😊

Hi @tok6,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that after recent network changes involving a new router setup in Access Point (AP) mode, your HP OfficeJet 5200 prints fine from Macs, but printing from Windows 11 PCS gets stuck in the queue, though scanning works. HP Smart shows the printer online, and you've already tried reinstalling drivers and running diagnostics without success.

Completely uninstall the printer driver

1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2. Look for HP Printer software.
3. Right-click to uninstall.
4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and Printers”.
5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7. Type printui.exe/s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9. Look for the HP Printer driver. If you see it, click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10. Select Ok.
11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties window.
12. Close Devices and Printers once the software and drivers are removed.
13. Restart the computer.

Then download HP Easy Start from the link below: Click Here

and run HP Easy Start and have to select Full Software and install the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi, I have done that twice now on 2 different computers.   I still have the same issue.   I send a file to the printer and it just says "waiting".   MY printer is essentially a brick now from Windows machines, other than being able to scan.
