I have an HP OfficeJet 7500A All-In-One printer, accessed as a wireless device. Recently the printer stopped printing black ink – the other colors still printed. Here is what I have tried to do to fix the problem, but have been unsuccessful so far:
- I cleaned the vent area on the top of the existing HP-manufactured black ink cartridge, which made no difference.
- I then replaced the HP-manufactured black ink cartridge with a new one, which also made no difference.
- I cleaned the printhead twice using the automatic method through the control panel, which did not fix the problem.
- I removed the ink cartridges and printhead, and cleaned the printhead manually 3 times, according to instructions provided on the official Web site, “HP Customer Support – Knowledge Base”, https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-7500a-wide-format-e-all-in-one-printer-series-e910..., “HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format Printers - Color or Black Ink Not Printing.” This did not fix the problem – still no black ink printed.
- I deleted the existing printer driver and installed an updated printer driver, which had no effect.
- I ordered and installed a new printhead from HP, which has not fixed the problem so far. After installation, the following error message appears, even after unplugging and restarting the printer several times:
Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes, or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error 0xc19a0041.
The printer will now not print at all.
