Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I understand you need help with duplex printing,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you installed the printer drivers from the HP website or the printer disc?

(I recommend using the HP website: Click here, if you haven't used it)

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

View this video on YouTube.

  1. To avoid page ordering issues, load enough blank paper into the input tray to completely complete your print job.

  2. Open the document that you want to print, click File , then click Print .

  3. Select the name of your printer, then click Printer Properties , Preferences , or Printer Setup , depending on what displays.

The Document Properties or Printing Preferences window opens.

    • If a Printing shortcut tab is available , select Print on Both Sides or Two-sided (Duplex) Printing option, if available.

    • If a Printing Shortcut tab or a duplexing shortcut is not available , click the Layout , Features , or Finishing tab, depending on which tab displays in your driver version.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks Riddle_Decipher

I used the disc, but now that I have down loaded from the HP website and followed your instructions all is well and I can duplex print the Church Newsletter.

I am very pleased with my  new 7612 printer

Hello again Riddle_Decipher, I have a couple more queries.

When printing duplex  A4 the printing area is reduced by almost 10% leaving rather a large border. I've tried borderless printing but that comes up as a fault and the printer goes back to border. I'm  probably not giving the correct instructions to the printer.

The other querie is when printing A3 (297 mm x 420 mm)  the printing starts about 50 mm from the top of the page thereby cutting off the bottom of the page. Is this a paper feeding problem?

As you mentioned you have issues printing borderless and when your print there is a gap of 50mm at the bottom of the page.

It looks to be a driver issue, uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software and check if it helps.

In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

Select your HP printer.

Select Uninstall.

In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Update the full feature printer software using this link.

Let me know if this works!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Hi MrRobot,

Thanks again for your help.

Your solution solved the problem of the duplex printing, but I still have the problem with A3 printing. Printing now starts about 40mm  (was 50 mm before) from the top of the page and  I therefore  still can't  print the complete  Newsletter - see photograph.

I set the printer to print - A3+ - with small margin; Plain paper; Print with border. I have tried other A3 settings but still have the problem.

Print starts 40 mm from top of pagePrint starts 40 mm from top of pageLoose the bottom of pageLoose the bottom of page

As I mentioned in my previous thread it sound's like a driver issue.

Try uninstalling the driver from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software and try printing again and check if it helps.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Take Care! 🙂

Hi MrRobot,

I have uninstalled the driver by going into Control Panel, then Programs and features then uninstalled the driver programs, that is uninstalling from the root level of my PC, I think.

Then I installed the full feature printer software using the link you gave me, but I still have the problem.

I have Serif programmes as well as Microsoft Office, I tried printing using both but stil have the same problem - printing starts  40mm from top of page when trying to print A3, no problems when printing A4
