HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

HP OfficeJet Pro 4470 printer suddenly stopped printing in page 3 out of 21-- the screen is showing status : "Printing"but it's not..it's been 2 days now and still the same issue. tried everything.. disconnect from power - reset the printer- stuck pages- ink- HP doctor diagnosis and everything seem to be OK.. I always check the "waiting documents to print" and clear them away

it's been an hour now and the screen of the printer is just showing : "printing"

what should I do?

Hi @Sosa92

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your printer is stuck mid-job, which can happen due to a software glitch, a corrupted print queue, or a communication issue.

Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, here are a few additional things to attempt:

1. Manually Clear the Print Queue

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
  • Cancel all pending print jobs.

2. Restart the Print Spooler Service

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
  • Try printing again.

3. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Visit HP’s support page for your printer model here and check for any available firmware updates.

5. Try Printing a Test Page

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Reports > Print Test Page.
  • If the test page prints, the issue may be software-related.

6. Factory Reset the Printer

  • If nothing works, consider a factory reset from the printer’s settings menu.

Let me know how it goes!
