Microsoft Windows 11

I tried to troubleshoot the issue with HP Virtual Assistant and have determined that I need to service this printer. Because my warranty is expired, I am not easily seeing how to find an HP approved facility to fix this issue. Can anyone help?

Hi @PorrJan,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a printhead issue with printers like the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 can be frustrating, but there are several troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Clean the printhead: Many printers have a built-in cleaning utility in their settings menu. Run this utility to clean the printhead and clear any clogs or debris.
  • Manual cleaning: If the built-in cleaning doesn't solve the issue, you can try manually cleaning the printhead. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to do this properly.
  • Check ink levels: Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing problems. Make sure your ink cartridges are adequately filled.
  • Replace ink cartridges: If your ink cartridges are old or damaged, they might be causing issues with the printhead. Try replacing them with new cartridges.
  • Update printer drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues with the printer.   Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer
  • Reset the printer: Resetting the printer to its factory settings can sometimes resolve printhead issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
