I recently purchased a HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 to replace an older version.  Every time my computer goes to sleep, I lose WiFi connection to the printer.  Every.  Single.  TIME!!!  I have to turn the Wifi off, then turn off the printer, then turn everything back on.  If I can't get a better solution than some of the ridiculous amount of hoops I read I needed to go through on another thread - this thing is going back and I'm moving on to a Canon or something else.

@IOHEFY

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips. Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

To fix the connectivity issue, use HP Print and Scan Doctor: Click here

If issue persists, create a Manual Connection for Your Networked HP Printer and disable IPv6. Follow the steps below:
Open the embedded web server (EWS)
(NOTE: To open the embedded web server through a network:
From the printer control panel, open the wireless settings and print the network configuration page.
Find out the IP address of the printer from the network configuration page.
In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address.
For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser: http://192.168.0.12.)
Click the Network or Networking tab, and then open the section or page for your network type: wired or wireless.
Click Manual IP.
If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.
Click Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.
On the Network or Networking tab, and then open Network protocol under general
Select Enable IPv4 only (or similar)
Click Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.
Restart the Printer and try printing again.
