Hello,
I unplugged my printer without turning it off. Ever since, I get error code 0x6100004a and the printer will only print blue ink. All suggestions regarding how to fix this will be appreciated.
Regards
Mike

Hi @Cheap-Suit_30 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0x6100004a on an HP printer typically indicates a hardware issue or a problem with the ink system. Since you mentioned that the printer will only print blue ink, it could be related to a specific ink cartridge or an issue with the ink system.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 5 minutes to allow the printer to reset.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Obstructions:
- Make sure there are no obstructions in the paper path or around the ink cartridges.
Inspect the Ink Cartridges:
- Open the printer cover and check the ink cartridges for any visible issues. Ensure that they are properly seated in their respective slots.
Replace or Reinsert Ink Cartridges:
- If you have more than one ink cartridge, try replacing the affected color cartridge. Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges.
- If the cartridges are correctly installed, try removing them and reinserting them.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect all cables and USB connections.
- Wait for 10 minutes.
- Reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
