HP OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-In-One prints black correctly, but colors either do not print at all or incorrectly.  This results in missing or "weak" colors.  I've tried cleaning the printhead through the printer window, but to no avail.  Is there another way to clean printhead manually?  The ink cartridge bay is NOT removable.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

 

Have you tried using an alternate set of color ink cartridges?

Check the ink levels and replace any empty or low ink cartridges.

As you have already cleaned the printhead from the printer screen, perform step 9 from this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

Print a print quality page to check the results.

 

The printhead in this printer is non-removable.

 

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer. 

 

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
