Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got a paper jam on my HP OfficeJet 8020 All in One Printer.   Paper jam removed and printer printed two more pages before jamming again.  Removed jam again and then I got Printer Failure with Event Code 71.02.4A.  I have removed cartridge, unplugged power from printer and wall, and then reinserted cartridge and plugged power back in but continue to get Printer Failure message with same code.  When I try to shut down printer, it will not shut down unless I unplug it.  HP Smart box keeps coming up on my PC and says Diagnose & Fix HP84FF70, but when I do this HP Smart says No Issues Found.

Need help and a solution on what to do next to get my printer working again.   I have Windows 10 operating system.

Thanks!!

Hi@TanyaTuxedo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Paper Jam issues with the HP OfficeJet Printer.

I have a few recommendations

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Remove the ink cartridges and Reset the printer

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
