Hi @CharlieHales,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 is stuck on the "Genuine HP Cartridges Installed" message and is unresponsive, try the following troubleshooting steps.

Power Reset:

  • Unplug the printer while it’s powered on.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. See if the printer can get past the message.

Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the cartridge access door, and gently remove each cartridge.
  • Reinsert each cartridge firmly to ensure proper contact, close the access door, and plug the printer back in. Turn it on to check if the message clears.

Partial Reset:

  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for 15 seconds.
  • Release the button, reconnect the power cord, and turn the printer on. This may clear temporary issues without losing settings.

Firmware Update:

  • If you can get the printer to a responsive state, check if it needs a firmware update through the HP Smart app or HP website. A firmware update might fix bugs related to cartridge recognition.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
