Condition:
My Officejet Pro 8620 is around 1 1/2 year old and all of a sudden it's not functioning. (FYI: It was still functioning yesterday). My printer was connected to 3 PCs in my house wirelessly, there is another printer (HP LaserJet Pro M401dw) in the same room connected to the same wifi. The printer is plugged in directly to the socket. No attempt of cartridge replacement or installing new firmware recently.
Situation:
This morning, I saw the power button is blinking, in an unusual way, it was blinking at a fast pace, around 3-4 times a second. When i try to print something, the printer wasn't show in my printer list, so i try to touch the screen on the printer but nothing happened. When i pressed the power button, it stopped blinking, and the HP logo showed up on the screen with a blue bar below it. Then it was stuck there for hours. Tried hard reset, use the firmware tools and plug in my printer to my pc using cable, but my printer is not showing up on my pc (it's not detected by the pc, no new device and nothing show up in "Printer and Devices" when cable is plugged in to my PC).
So i unplugged the printer from the power source and wait for a few hours then plug in the printer to the socket again. The printer started again with the power button light up and screen showing the HP logo with a blue bar below the logo. But this time, after a few minutes, the screen turned off, all the buttons are blinking (Home, Help, Back, Wireless & Power Button) at a fast pace (around 3-4 times a second), and after a minute or two, Home, help, back button and wireless light stop blinking (only light up), but the power button continue to blink. All the buttons and screen are unresponsive, pressing power button is unable to turn off the printer.
I have tried all the possible troubleshooting methods suggested on this forum, but nothing solve it, hopefully someone in this forum can help me on this, thanks in advance.

Hi @DenieceNg,
It seems that the issues are increasing and maybe all of this could be related to a hardware issue with the printer.
Here is the support document intended for use with power issues - Printer Does Not Turn On.
If these issues persist, I would contact HP Tech Support as they may have additional resources that might help lead to a solution. What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Hi @DenieceNg,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your printer issue.
I understand that you are using an HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer with a Windows 10 computer and the printer is unusable because the display is unresponsive and all the lights are blinking fast. I would like to help.
The printer is in an error state when the lights are flashing and the control panel is unresponsive.
All you can do to try to clear the error state is perform a Power Reset.
If you are able to get the printer back to the home display, try checking to see if there are any Firmware or Product Updates. This support document can help with that - Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
In fact, if this helps you to reach a solution please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons down below in this message. 🙂

Everytime when it get to the home screen, after 30 mins or so, it will go back to the same problem as before, black screen, light up buttons and flashing power button. Screen is unresponsive and unable to turn off the printer unless unplug from the socket.
If it doesn't get to the home screen, it will stuck at the HP logo screen, and no moving carriage sound.

Hi @DenieceNg,
Thanks for getting back to me.
You mentioned that there is no sound coming from the carriage area. It might be worth checking the carriage and carriage path to see of there is something there that might be contributing to this issue. Here is a document that with checking to make sure the related areas are clear of obstruction - A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays.
I do not think this is a software issue, but just to make sure, try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

Dear rb011,
Forgot to mention that during the time when the printer was able to boot to the home screen, i am able to print without any problem. So, I don't think so its a carriage jam problem, moreover there is no "Carriage Jam" message displayed when the problem persist.
Anyway, i have tried the way you suggested and try to clear the obstruction, but i notice there is no paper or anything which obstruct the carriage. The carriage is on the right side of the printer (right behind the control panel), so when i try to pull it, i was unable to do so, seems like its locked there, i am worried that I will spoilt the printer if i pull harder.
For the "HP Print and Scan Doctor", it failed to communicate with the printer.
Since yesterday, my printer doesn't turn on at all, pressing the power button does not boot up the printer.
Thank you.
Regards,
Deniece
