On the Pro 8710 screen I get the following msg:
Printer Error
There is a problem with the printer. Turn printer off, then on.
Which I do, and that clears the issue. Unfortunately, within an hour or less the error message reappears. This feature has been occurring for the past several weeks. I've checked the cartridges, correctly installed. The wifi appears to be ok, the strength of the signal is very good. I'm at a loss why this is occurring. There appears to be no error number so I can't track what is the problem. Can anybody shed some light on this issue?

I get the identical error message with the identical results, in the same time frame, so this not a local issue confined to one printer. If anyone else out there is having the same problem, please add your thoughts to this message thread and hopefully, someone from HP will have a solution.
BTW, I had an issue with my HP Instant Ink account and this problem could be a result of that. Does anyone have this printer issue AND instant ink?

Thank you, for posting that; what I'm trying to find out if there is somehow a link between HP's instant ink and the printer going off line. HP is always connected to your printer. That's how they charge you for the ink that you use. IF something has gone wonky, I feel it might be HP Instant ink's monitoring and the software it takes to run it.
So, if you don't have any problems like we are discussing here, you probably are NOT using instant Ink.
What say you?
Thanks!

As far as I'm aware I do not subscribe to Instant Ink. This the 2nd time someone has mentioned this. I'm somewhat at a loss to what this means. Is that HP supplies the ink when it is low (ie they monitor levels). How can one check if one subscribes to Instant Ink? If I do, it's a mistake. I monitor said levels of ink and change the cartridge without any prompting. Levels of ink are ok at the present time. The only other issue was the firmware, but that's upto date. I'm at a loss why this occuring (started around 6-8 weeks ago)
