HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 error: The cartridge cannot move. There is no jam or paper stuck and the cartridge does move but then the error comes on the screen again. I have found nothing to clear and I have troubleshooted several time unplugging and turnoff. Now no matter how I shut it down it says it was not shut down properly. Although it was. This all started when it said I did not install a HP Instant ink cartridge but I did now I no longer get the error just wont get past Cartridge cannot move but it moves freely and resets with the same error

Hi @morrjo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more steps you can take to try and resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware. You can check the HP website for firmware updates for your specific printer model and follow the instructions to update it.
Inspect for Debris:
- Open the printer cover and check for any debris or foreign objects that might be obstructing the cartridge path.
- Use a flashlight to get a better view inside the printer.
Manually Move the Cartridge:
- Turn off the printer.
- Manually move the cartridge carriage gently back and forth to check if there is any obstruction or if it moves smoothly.
- Turn the printer back on and see if the error persists.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Make sure that the cartridges installed are compatible with your printer model.
- If you have another set of cartridges, you can try replacing them to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
