HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 will not print on cardstock

I have a similar issue, except mine is with Avery labels.  It worked fine for years, and then suddenly around the end of 2018, it stopped picking up the first sheet well....  that is, it starts, screeches and screams, and maybe prints on half the sheet, and the rest on the followup sheet.

I've tried using differnet software programs to print, and it does not matter.  Even printing the HP test sheet does the same thing.  I've even tried using plain paper as the first sheet, and when it gets to the Avery sheet, the screaming begins.

I have also tried cleaning the rollers, and it does not seem to make a difference.

My printer is an OfficeJet Pro 8710.

Firmware WBP2CN1910AR

only 7427 pages printed in it's lifetime.

I'm using Avery labels 8126.  I normally print one to two labels a month.  Probably 100 sheets of these labels since I bought it new.
