My printer suddenly started printing very slowly. For a 5mb pdf file that is 3 pages of a basic scan of text documents, it could take over twenty minutes to print. It would typically be able to print these same attachments in seconds typically.

The steps that I took already is as follows.

1. Unplug the printer, wait 10 minutes. Plug back in. No effect

2. Reset printer to factory settings. No effect.

3. Uninstalled and reinstalled printer software. No effect

4. Deleted and reinstalled printer drivers. No effect

5. Adjusted printer settings to draft and low dpi. No effect.

6. Used HP print and scan doctor. No issues found.

What about other documents from a computer how are they printed?

There is a USB port on the bottom left side of the printer. Load pdf file on a USB drive insert in the printer and try printing directly without a computer.

Most other documents that I generate from my pc print pretty quickly. It seems to only be an issue with these large scan files that clients send me. I tried printing it from my phone and these larger size (about 5mb) pdfs print slightly faster but still takes about 5-10 mins for a couple sheets. I had bought a printer cable and tried printing from my pc through that and it took about the same amount of time of 20 mins as the wifi printing.

I will try the USB method and report back.
