I have to share that this happens every few days and I am HIGHLY frustrated with the printer linked to my IMAC. Very unhappy indeed.  To have to go through all these steps repeatedly, although works temporarily, is a huge waste of my valuable time.  This is a much needed fix. Understandable that IT  between companies, as in Apple and HP, this makes me wonder on any future HP product.

I understand you have intermittent issues with printing. Refer to the document HP Printers - 'Encryption Credentials Expired' Error Displays (macOS, iOS) for help. 

 

Resetting the certificate is the preferred method because selecting the "Airprint" option sends your print data unencrypted. if resetting the certificate does not work, please try adding the "Airprint" driver following the directions from the below post. Note do not select the "Secure Airprint" option as this will cause the expired credentials error to appear.
