Hi @Maburl,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e is stuck at "verifying," it usually indicates a problem with either the printer's firmware or its communication with the network or computer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Restart the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or HP's website.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset of the printer. This option is usually found in the printer’s settings menu under “Setup” or “Maintenance.”

Check Network Connections:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your network. If you’re using Wi-Fi, check the connection and consider reconnecting the printer to the network.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • On your computer, uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers. You can download the latest drivers from HP’s support website.

Inspect and Clear Print Queue:

  • On your computer, check the print queue for any stuck print jobs. Clear the queue if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
