Hello,
I have a an HP OfficeJet 4650 and it just sits there with a Blank Blue Lit-Up LCD Touchscreen on it (Picture Below). Power Button does not do anything. Unplugging it just brings it back to the same Blank Blue Lit-Up LCD screen. Printer will not copy from its LCD Touchscreen Menu since nothing to click whatsoever. From the computer and trying to Print to It while plugged in with Blank Blue Back-Lit Screen get the message "Printer is Offline".
Has anyone had this issue? If so is there anything that can be done like a Firmware Update or Some Sort of Hard-Reset? Is the LCD Screen literally dead and if so is this something that can be Repaired? Or is it just time to trash the Printer?
Blank Back-Lit Touchscreen
Thanks,
-Nick

I called Hp customer service and they are of no help. They say printers have a lifespan of 5 to 6 yrs and that’s it…. I thought it was the internal power supply issue, so I took the printer apart, the power supply is good… I don’t know what else’s it could be… they probably set an internal clock for the motherboard to crap out after 5 yrs… it’s such BS. I’m so mad…this was a great printer, can’t find another printer like this one.

I found a solution…. Try unplugging the power cord in back of printer, then gently push it back in just enough to touch the terminals without pushing it all the way in, just touch it and pull it out and back in repeatedly while pressing the power button until you see something pop up on the screen…. It worked for me until I turned the printer off and back on and I had to do it again but this time I disabled power off mode and instead used sleep mode, the printer stays on sleep mode and is woken up when needing to print… it’s been working now for 12 hours, so we’ll see how long this lasts…
