HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One Printer does not send scan to Windows 7, and HP Print and Scan Doctor says "not imaging" & sends error message 8,[1,0,-2147221498)] -- I have reconnected my officejet, reinstalled drivers, etc., & nothing works. I've looked for help & tried several times, & am ready to give up on HP.

Can you try this alternative Scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Let us know if that works.
