I purchased an HP Officejet 6950.
The cartridges it came with worked perfectly.
But the black cartridge ran out after around 100 pages.
I ordered a replacement (HP 903XL) but no matter what I try the printer is refusing to print the colour black.
I have printed so many test pages (using HPs ridiculous troubleshooting) that now all the colours have also ran out and need to be replaced as well.
The total cost of what Ive done means I might as well have just bought a new printer.
Im obviously very very psd off. Im annoyed at the amount of time Ive wasted. And I just want the printer to work.
Ive tried all the options available but nothing seems to work.
Ive cleaned the printer heads using the option on the control panel. An option which keeps coming up is to remove the cartridge container from the printer to clean it, but this is literally impossible on an Officejet 6950 (unless I start unscrewing and disassembling the printer)
Has anyone else ever encountered this kind of problem with an HP Officejet 6950?

@StuartEdin, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP OfficeJet 6950 All-in-One Printer series does not have a removable printhead.
Do you have an alternate/Spare Black ink cartridge which you can try with apart from the new one you ordered?
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.
Perform step 9 and step 10 from this document.
Let me know how this goes.

Kumar,
I posted my problem, you post a generic response, and then my account was closed down meaning I have ZERO chance of replying????
I have tried EVERYTHING to resolve this. Ive followed allyour instructions. Ive tried looking online but nothing can resolve this issue. Ive cleaned the printheads using the control panel. Ive unplugged the machine. Ive restored factory settings. Ive re-installed the drivers. Ive downloaded all the firmware. Ive done each step over and over and over but still the printer REFUSES to print black ink.
Whats more infuriating is this is a very common problem that has been happening for a very long time. Had I known this before purchasing this useless printer I would not have bothered. I would have been better off ripping the money up and burning the pile.
There is a lot of people online who are experiencing the same problem. Why is this problem being ignored??
What am I supposed to do about this??
The HP cartridge I just spent £27 on is 100% useless. Will HP be replacing this, giving me my money back, or will my account on your site be closed down again so that I dont get a chance to update this post to confirm that your product is corrupt and doesnt work?
Please respond with instructions on how I can actually resolve this issue either by getting the printer to ACTUALLY print, or by advising on how I can get a refund for my wasted money (and TIME)

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
