Officejet 8025
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer was replaced on warranty and the new computer will not print from desktop. Prints fine from other computers and phone. When a print job is sent the printer wakes up and print head carriage moves but it will not print. Queue shows print job initially but then clears when carriage moves. Scanning to desktop works fine.

Printer was working fine then just quit working from the desktop. Message said driver not installed completely due to metered network. The PC sees the printer and running HP tools can access the printer and print diagnosis but printing from desktop doesn't work and shows nothing waiting to be printed. Was connected by USB so I connected by ethernet and showed second printer installed but it acts the same way.

Turned off metered connection and deleted and reinstalled software and problem persists.

HP image 51.0.4840.0  failed to install 6/2/20202 but installed successfully later that same day through Windows update. I manually tried to reinstalled the software but can only find version 49.3.4475.0 online.

My HP Officejet Pro 8025 (1KR57A-64001) quit printing from PDF, Open Office and Microsoft Office ... the print job shows in the print queue for just a second then disappears.  It gives an error when trying to print a test page from printer properties and the test page stay in the print queue in error status.

I've tried installing and reinstalling using USB and ethernet with the same results.

Using Windows 10 Pro.

Thanks so much for your assistance.  I have been able to isolate the problem to printing from Open Office V4.1.7 as I'm able to print fine from the web, MS Word, PDFs and plain text.

So I'm not sure if the problem is in OO or W10 as the print jobs show in the printer queue briefly but never print. Also if I try to print a test page from the W10 Print Properties I get a message saying "The test page failed to print. The parameter is incorrect."

Thanks again.

I've been through that. I've updated drivers. I've reinstalled microsoft updates twice. This printer is a nightmare! I have spent at least 15 hours on the phone with HP support and Microsoft support trying to make this work.

I understand your concerns.

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help

Have a nice day!!
