HP Officejet Pro 8000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8000 that has been working great.

Since a few weeks I'm having driver problems with it.

I'm using it on 2 laptops, an older one with Windows Vista 32-bit on it, a newer one with Windows 10 64-bit.

Both of them give the same error after having installed the PCL driver from windows update.

After each printjob, he stops printing and the paper feed light goes on. To get the light out, I have to restart the printer (off and back on). I tried installing the class driver on my newer laptop with windows 10, the light stays out but after each printjob, he now prints a row of color  like the first line of the alignment page.

I can not install the class driver on my old laptop.

With the class driver, there are not enough options to print, so I would like to get the normal driver to work.

Anyone can help me?

I would like to keep the printer instead of having to buy a new one.

Is the copy working fine?

If the copy is working fine, this could be a driver issue.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8000-printer-series-a809/3760400 to download and install the HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver.

Hi Raj,

I've followed your steps but the error is still the same on my windows Vista Laptop.

(I've tried this a million times before, in a slightly different way)

After each printjob the light of the paper feed blinks...  I have to switch the printer off an on to get this light stop blinking and to get the printer working again.

I'm sure it is a driver problem and not a mechanical problem since there is no paper feed problem on my windows 10 laptop.

I've been using this printer on this Vista laptop without any problems until a week or 2 ago.

Maybe HP thinks it's time for a new printer and therefor causes this error in an update??

It was quite an expensive printer so it would be appreciated if there was a solution for my problem...

Hi Raj,

Unfortunately your solution didn't work for me.

I'm still convinced it's a driver problem.

It's not normal that this printer can't work properly on my fairly new laptop Windows 10, only with the class driver which gives me a lot less features... and still the alignment page coming out after each printjob.

You're solution was a the standard solution HP provides and that I already had tried out.

I think if this problem isn't solved, I will have to buy a new printer but for sure it will probably nog be an hp.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my printer, I still have a lot of cartridges left and now all this is useless whit the printer not working.  A waste of money....  Not speaking of the time I lost trying to get it to work...

Si I'm really disappointed...
